⚡ AI Tool Discovery Workflow of the Week
Every edition, we pick one real-world task and show you the exact AI tools and steps to get it done faster. No theory -- just a workflow you can run today. This week: stop typing the same 200-word prompt every Claude session and build a Skill that handles it permanently. Here is how.
⚡ Steal This Workflow
Stop Typing the Same Prompt. Build a Claude Skill Once.
For anyone using Claude Desktop who re-types the same instructions every session. 15 minutes to set up. Saves time on every task after that.
| 01 |
Build your context folder -- Claude Desktop Create a "Claude Cowork" folder and connect it in Claude Desktop. Add three markdown files inside: about-me.md (your role and writing preferences), my-company.md (business details), anti-ai-writing-style.md (words and phrases to ban from outputs). Claude reads this before every session. No more explaining yourself from scratch. |
| 02 |
Create your first Skill -- Claude Desktop With your folder connected, paste this into Claude: "Create a skill called [skill-name]. Interview me about the kinds of [tasks] I do daily. Build the best skill to handle these. Save it as /[shorthand]." Answer Claude's questions, click "Always allow," then "Save skill." From then on, /[shorthand] triggers the full behavior with one command. |
| 03 |
Connect Obsidian to browse past outputs -- Obsidian (free) Download Obsidian, open your Claude Cowork folder as a vault. Every output Claude saves to that folder becomes searchable instantly. Claude's own in-session search is unreliable in long chats -- Obsidian finds anything in seconds. No new files to manage. It just reads the folder you already have. |
⏱ Total setup time: 15 minutes
Result: You type /skill-name instead of a 200-word prompt. Your style, rules, and context load automatically -- every session, no re-prompting.

Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.7 on April 16. The headline numbers: a 13% resolution lift on a 93-task coding benchmark, and 3x more production tasks resolved compared to Opus 4.6 on Rakuten-SWE-Bench
ANTHROPIC
| 🦾 |
Claude Opus 4.7 Drops: 13% Coding Lift, 3x More Tasks, Same Price |
Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.7 on April 16. The headline numbers: a 13% resolution lift on a 93-task coding benchmark, and 3x more production tasks resolved compared to Opus 4.6 on Rakuten-SWE-Bench. It handles long-running tasks with more consistency and is particularly stronger on the hardest tasks in the benchmark suite.
Vision gets a real upgrade too. Opus 4.7 accepts images up to 3.75 megapixels -- more than 3x what prior Claude models could process. Pricing holds at $5 input / $25 output per million tokens. Anthropic did acknowledge publicly that Opus 4.7 does not match the unreleased Mythos model, which remains restricted to a small group of vetted cybersecurity partners.
What changed:
• 13% lift on coding benchmarks -- largest gains on the most difficult tasks in the suite
• Vision now supports images up to 3.75 megapixels -- 3x increase over Opus 4.6
• Available on Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry at unchanged pricing
Why it matters:
This is the strongest API model Anthropic has shipped for everyday use. If you run production coding tasks through Claude, the 3x task resolution improvement is worth testing immediately. Pricing is unchanged, so there's no cost reason to stay on Opus 4.6.

CANVA
| 🎨 |
Canva AI 2.0: From Template Picker to Prompt-Driven Campaign Builder |
Canva launched AI 2.0 on April 16, rolling out to the first million users via the homepage before expanding broadly. The shift is fundamental: describe a campaign in plain text and Canva generates the full asset set across social, email, and presentations in one pass. Object-level editing lets the AI change a single element without disturbing the rest of the layout.
Persistent memory means Canva learns your brand preferences over time and applies them automatically. It also connects to Slack, Notion, Zoom, HubSpot, Gmail, and Google Drive -- pulling in conversation context and docs to build outputs like client pitches or meeting summaries without you assembling the brief manually.
What's new:
• Prompt-to-campaign: describe the output you need, get full asset sets across channels
• Persistent memory: Canva retains your brand style and preferences across sessions
• Connectors to Slack, Notion, Zoom, HubSpot, Gmail, and Google Drive built in
Why it matters:
185 million people already open Canva every week. This update does not ask them to learn a new tool -- it upgrades the one they already have. The template-to-prompt shift is the most significant workflow change Canva has shipped since launch, and it lands directly inside every designer and marketer's existing session.

Supermicro Co-Founder Arrested for Smuggling $2.5B in Nvidia GPUs to China |
Federal prosecutors charged Supermicro co-founder Yih-Shyan "Wally" Liaw and two associates with illegally diverting $2.5 billion worth of AI servers -- containing Nvidia chips blocked by U.S. export controls -- to China through a Southeast Asian shell operation using fake paperwork and dummy server boxes. Liaw has since resigned from the Supermicro board. Supermicro shares fell 33% on the news.
WHY IT MATTERS:
This is the largest GPU export control violation case in U.S. history. It signals that enforcement of AI chip export restrictions is now a federal priority -- and that the gray-market GPU supply chain to China was far more organized than previously known.

White House Drops National AI Framework -- Wants Congress to Override All State Laws |
The Trump administration published a national AI legislative blueprint asking Congress to override state-level AI laws in favor of a single national standard. The framework calls for no new federal regulatory agencies, streamlined permitting for data centers, and specific child safety provisions. Senate Republicans have raised concerns about trampling state rights -- similar efforts have failed twice in Congress already.
WHY IT MATTERS:
If this passes, AI companies get a single regulatory environment instead of 50. If it fails (again), the patchwork of state laws grows. Either way, the next 6 months will determine whether the U.S. gets a coherent national AI governance structure -- or a legal maze.
